Happy last day of Scorpio season! Pluto just moved solidly into Aquarius, Mercury is retrograding next week, and so is Mars the week after, heading towards another Pluto opposition. The sexy tension continues! This past week has felt like a flurry of activity. I closed out my 35th year, ending a 12 year era. A 12th House year ruled by Mars, battling ghosts hidden in my non-existent attic haunting my life in ways I was finally ready to meet. Instead of externalising them, I met my terror, shame and anger in direct ways, and there was palpable grief underneath it all. I also met my edge, bravery and fortitude in spades, like quitting my job with no plan, starting a business, writing publicly, completing my SE training, offering astrology readings IRL without any prep and realising I can talk astrology for two hours straight (most likely more if you let me). Doing things before I felt completely ready, but enough of a semblance to just do it, try the thing and see what happens. Earlier this year, I tried improv for the first time, which is really just adult playgroup where you laugh for two hours straight, where I learned that everything is an offer (like Life), play can create the conditions for safety and everything is literally made up so keep making things up and state the most obvious thing - not the funniest, nor the most interesting, which ends up being the exact thing the moment needs. On my 36th birthday - a Venus in Capricorn day - my friend bought me hot jam donuts and coffee and sang Happy Birthday very loudly as I walked into the middle of a packed market. We drove to an esoteric bookshop in the ‘burbs and at my exact solar return we walked into an enchanted portal. There were two mages living under two giant oak trees, their garden designed in a pentacle with altars for the five elements from recycled material picked up from the kerbside. Mini disco balls hanging everywhere, throwing sun sparkles all over the garden. I received a very trickster-y tarot reading from the wizard with long white hair who was basically Merlin, a Gemini Rising with a Scorpio Sun. Later we went to the bush nearby to pee and a copperhead snake slithered away. After dancing under the Full Moon in Taurus by the sea, my sister surprised me with a half-dome black-forest cake by Ami, where dear friends and strangers whispered blessings to me as they placed a blackberry and cherry on the cake. I felt my heart bursting with love, a visceral sense of flowing reciprocity and joy. These moments have felt few and far between lately, and so I cherish them when they appear out of the blue as a gift. When life surprises me with delight, I want to code the felt-impressions into my cells. Thank you for reading, I treasure your attention.
