I released this Substack on grief last Friday evening, in the final hours of Saturn in Pisces. In it was a phrase I’d written months before: trying to make sense of where I am in the eye of the storm. In the following few days, the phrase came up a coupla times - once in an old found podcast, then in a Lunar Luminosity session someone used the phrase though they’d never used it before. ~ Time feels like it’s both in suspension and speeding up. I make a scary new choice in eclipse season and in a week I’m committing to something new. WHO AM I??? Just a babe deciding I make great choices no matter what happens. Things can happen fast and not every moment has to be speedy. ~ Last week I realised a part of me has stayed stuck in a pitch black pit when there’s actually a luscious open meadow with flowers and sunshine and butterflies. I watch as the pitch black pit is waved away, an illusion dissolving. I saw how I kept recreating rigid structures that tell me that if I do this, this and this, this will be the outcome. A remembrance that whatever path I end up on, the destination will be beautiful. I say I want freedom but boy is there still a resistance to freedom. I think of myself as a optimist but sometimes fear gets the best of me and there are days where I assume the worst - a habit I’m flipping into the vortex and jumping back into the clear river again. ~ On February 21st at 3:53am AEDT, Saturn conjoins Neptune exactly at 0° Aries, the beginning point of the zodiacal wheel. A reset moment, a reconfiguration of our dreams, a time to imagine what new worlds we are each building from the rubbles of old structures that are dissolving. If you have felt moments of disllusionment and the wool getting pulled over your eyes the past year, you are not alone. If you thought you were going one way and things took a sudden turn unexpectedly, you are not alone. The world promises no slowing down this year. But you always have choice to respond from your values. You can choose when to run fast, when to pee and take a break, have a sip of water, nuzzle on some grass, look at rainbows and drink another hojicha latte. May the new dream you are seeding and building at this moment yield lasting fruits that are sweet, tasty and very snackable for picnics in spring. ~ eye of the storm is defined as: A region of calm weather right in the middle of a storm. A period of calm in a tumultuous time.
What if you could become the eye of the storm, not getting caught up in the fear of the world that does not belong to you, but from your steady embodied presence… move and wiggle forth with ease, grace and sass? ~ We are in times of unprecedented changes this year. Even as parts of me feels the familiar pull towards fear, I re-orient repeatedly to the parts of me that anchors back down into the roots of the earth. Come home to my fleshy body again and again. Practice being the eye of the storm. Perceiving with discernment even when the weather gets hazy. Sense the I in the storm. ~ What if there is no specific one path you have to take? Who would you be? If you’re in a moment of limbo and desire re-orienting to your inner compass, agency and paths of possibility, I am available for eclipse season support through 1:1 somatic sessions, astrology readings and Your Lunar Luminosity. Dissolve freeze and move towards expressing yourself in new ways - starting that side quest, initiating a chat with your crush across the coffeeshop, disappointing your partner to do what you want, taking up that life drawing class even though you think you suck at drawing, signing up for that triathlon, launching a podcast, eating dinner solo on a Saturday night at a busy restaurant, attending a party where you don’t know anyone except the host. It will be uncomfortable, but with each step you take you’re re-wiring neural pathways in your brain, letting your body know you are safe while taking new risks and facing what you don’t know. The unknown does not have to be a threat. This is the year to move towards your desires in NEW ways. Action that organically arises from who you are being, from your internal state of coherence. Let it start micro, tiny, baby. Aries is the baby of the zodiac taking wobbly steps, learning on the way, moving with instinct anyway. Dream the new dream… then let’s go dancing !
