sweet nectar for a honeyeater

A few weeks ago, I looked up when my exact Venus return would be, noting that I would be away that weekend with some classmates for a pre-spring retreat.

The week leading up, I gave two readings to two Libra risings.

In the eye of my Venus in Libra return with a blessed trine from Jupiter, I discovered to my delight that I was surrounded by three Libran luminaries and stelliums, lubricants of social ease.

My SE training hasn’t always been the easiest. At the start of my second year, I left the training intensive soaking in a deluge of tears, slinking off in the story of ‘not healed/competent enough’, isolated in my own processing. The next time I returned, I vowed to take steps towards intentionally cultivating deeper reciprocal connections.

You can descend to hell alone but it’s always more fun with company.

So, a gift this Venus return: sensing the gentle power of emerging connections and inclusive collaborations that feel like sweet nectar for a honeyeater.

As I attune more to Venus - primo celestial guide of my chart - I keep swinging my attention back again to what’s harmonious, the moments that feel good and pleasurable and simply beautiful.

Opening up to each conversation as sacred.

Opening up to love by receiving a red waratah as a reminder of my own blossoming to others.

Opening up to devotion of my creative desires.

Opening up to the warmth of a wood-fired sauna after an icy dip in the sea.

Opening up to smoothing out what feels knotted.

Opening up to napping in the middle of the day just because my body said: this is an excellent idea!

I am filled to the brim recalling the delicate ease of opening to delight, how our sense of safety begins with connection and laughter the quickest dose of medicine.

Sometimes I think of how Venus activates our ventral vagal system, the part of our nervous system that sends the signal to our brain that we are safe because we are engaging with another in ways that reflects our wholeness.

On my way home, I decided to walk along the coastline on the south-eastern tip of Millowl.

I found a bench by the cliffs, and sat for a long while, watching the crashing waves.

Finally, feeling the spaciousness of the day, above a beach called Magiclands, I laid down on a wide expanse of grass in my puffer, and fell asleep with the sun on my face.
